Ryan Senger is a co-founder (2014) of DialySensors Inc., now Rametrix Technologies Inc.
By professional training, Dr. Senger is a chemical engineer and chemist with more than 20 years of experience in biochemical/metabolic engineering, Raman spectroscopy, computational biology, and data science research. He joined the Department of Biological Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech (VT) as an Assistant Professor in 2009 and since has been promoted to Associate Professor with tenure. He also maintains courtesy appointments with the Department of Chemical Engineering at VT and with the Department of Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. He has published nearly 80 peer-reviewed articles, secured nearly $4 million in sponsored research funding, been an author on six patents/applications, advised/graduated 11 PhD and 10 MS students, given nearly 60 invited lectures and talks, and delivered over 125 conference presentations. He has received multiple Outstanding Faculty awards from his academic department and the College of Engineering at VT during his career.
Dr. Senger earned his BS (Chemistry) from Millikin University and an MS and PhD (Chemical Engineering) from Colorado State University. He completed postdoctoral research in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas Tech and in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Northwestern. He was also an NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein NRSA Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Delaware.
